Elon Musk Twitter: From Tesla to Starship, these are the SpaceX CEO's weirdest tweets


A typical CEO chooses their words carefully and avoids anything classed controversial. Elon Musk the CEO of electric car pioneer Tesla, reusable space rocket company SpaceX, and the ironically-titled hyperlink manufacturer The Boring Company. Musk has cultivated a cavalier persona on Twitter, where make pledges, launches products and crack jokes. While the South African billionaire’s candour has endeared him to his 27.6 million Twitter followers, it has reportedly frustrating some analysts and investors who argue Elon Musk is temperamental and reckless.

In just 280 characters Musk pledged to fix South Australia’s energy crisis.

And in July 2018 the SpaceX CEO offered help to save the the child football team trapped in a cave in Thailand.

But best of all, Musk is funny and appears happy to share his self-deprecating humour.

Musk funded The Boring Company by selling real-life flamethrowers in January 2018.

He backed-up the publicity stunt with some comedic tweets urging people to buy the flamethrowers because they would really come in handy when the zombie apocalypse arrives.

He wrote: “When the zombie apocalypse happens, you’ll be glad you bought a flamethrower. Works against hordes of the undead or your money back!”

And he later added: “The rumour that I’m secretly creating a zombie apocalypse to generate demand for flamethrowers is completely false.”

Musk jokingly pondered in November 2018 why there was no Flat Mars Society to stand in solidarity with the Flat Earth Society.

In response to Musk’s “Why is there no Flat Mars Society!?” tweet, group tweeted at Musk saying Mars had been observed to be round.

The Flat Earth Society wrote: “Hi Elon, thanks for the question. Unlike the Earth, Mars has been observed to be round.”

Musk responds to rumours he must be a lost alien to be capable of running so many companies.

In March 2015, he tweeted: “The rumour that I’m building a spaceship to get back to my home planet Mars is totally untrue.”

Musk opened-up about struggles with making Tesla profitable which makes this 2018 April Fools’ joke.

He tweeted: “There are many chapters of bankruptcy and, as critics so rightly pointed out, Tesla has them *all*, including Chapter 14 and a half (the worst one).

“Elon was found passed out against a Tesla Model 3, surrounded by “Teslaquilla” bottles, the tracks of dried tears still visible on his cheeks.”

The SpaceX CEO is well aware of comparisons with characters from popular culture.

After attempting to land a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket after launch in 2015, Musk told his Twitter fans he would indulge in the evil genius stereotype if the next attempt was a success.

He tweeted: “If this works, I’m treating myself to a volcano lair. It’s time.”
