Portia de Rossi has said her wife Ellen Degeneres is doing ‘great’ despite facing controversy over her talk show.

The Ellen Degeneres Show had faced allegations of intimidation and racism, with the host being urged to take accountability, before she penned an apology letter to staff.

Portia, who has been married to Ellen since 2008, told PageSix while she was out walking her dogs that her wife is doing ‘great’.

Asked whether she would be continuing her show, Portia simply responded: ‘Yes she is.’

The Scandal actress has been standing by her wife after speaking out on Instagram.

Alongside an image which states: ‘I stand by Ellen,’ Portia added in the caption: ‘To all our fans….we see you. Thank you for your support. #stopbotattacks. #IStandWithEllenDeGeneres #IStandByEllen #IstandByEllenDeGeneres.’

One hashtag urged: ‘#bekindtooneanother.’

In an expose, published by Buzzfeed News, 10 workers made allegations about their experiences on the show – including claims of intimidation and racism – with Ellen later penning an apology.

In the letter, the comedian said she took full ‘responsibility’ for the working environment at The Ellen Show as her name is the brand. She insisted that she had no idea what had gone on and was working with WarnerMedia to stomp out the ‘toxic’ environment.

‘I told everyone in our first meeting that The Ellen DeGeneres Show would be a place of happiness – no one would ever raise their voice, and everyone would be treated with respect,’ she said according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Afterwards, Everybody Loves Raymond actor Brad Garrett slammed the presenter, saying he knew ‘more than one person’ who had been mistreated at the talk show.

Meanwhile, some stars have been throwing their support behind Ellen, including Katy Perry who wrote: ‘I know I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience besides my own but I want to acknowledge that I have only ever had positive takeaways from my time with Ellen & on the @theellenshow.

‘I think we all have witnessed the light & continual fight for equality that she has brought to the world through her platform for decades. Sending you love & a hug, friend.’

The likes of Scooter Braun, Ashton Kutcher, and Alec and Hilaria Baldwin have also supported Ellen.

Although there have been some calls for Ellen to quit her talk show, which has been airing since 2003, executive producer Andy Lassner broke his silence over the issues on Twitter, simply stating to a follower: ‘Nobody is going off air’.
