Elisabeth Moss baffled by rumours she was engaged to Tom Cruise

Elisabeth Moss has been subject to a fair few rumours in her time – but she’s completely baffled by one of them.

At one point, everyone was convinced she was engaged to Tom Cruise, and she was left utterly confused by the whole thing.

Asked by a fan what her reaction was to reading the stories, she giggled before asking host Andy Cohen: ‘How did you miss that?!’ as he admitted he’d been none the wiser.

Seriously Andy, how?!

‘I actually was confused and mainly got texts from people being like, “I didn’t know, why didn’t you tell me?” and just confusion from my friends, but mainly just poking fun of me because they knew it wasn’t true.

‘And then I saw it on the cover of one of the gossip magazines, and I was like, “I’ve never had that haircut…clearly not me.”‘

Hey, at least she’s got a sense of humour about it.

Appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Elisabeth’s co-star Aldis Hodge pointed out: ‘That’s when you know you’ve made it, when people are making up who you marry.’

No lies detected.

Elisabeth was previously married to actor Fred Armisen, although the pair split back in 2011. More recently, she’s opted to keep her romances private.

Tom, meanwhile, has been married to Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman, and Katie Holmes, also keeping his private life on the down low.

The 37-year-old actress may be shutting down rumours about who she’s dated in real life, although she recently revealed she’s keen to star in a romantic comedy – but no one’s asked her.

Come on, guys!

‘I would love to do a romantic comedy for like, nine months,’ the Invisible Man star said in a recent interview.

‘Nobody wants me to do it!’ she added to The Telegraph.

‘They only want me to do this, like, sick, challenging s**t. And I get it – I do love that – but I would love to do a really smart comedic show.’

Elisabeth has previously starred in the likes of The West Wing and Mad Men.

Her next project, which she appears in alongside Aldis, will be thriller film The Invisible Man, inspired by the 1897 H. G. Wells novel.

The movie, also starring Oliver Jackson-Cohen, hits cinemas on 28 February 2020.
