ELEAGUE to Host Mortal Kombat 11 Showdown During Closed Beta Weekend

  • ELEAGUE and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have partnered to host a Mortal Kombat 11 Twitch competition on March 31.
  • ELEAGUE Mortal Kombat 11 Showdown will feature 11 influencers from Twitch as they play against random opponents in the game’s closed beta.
  • The competition will feature live commentators streaming from the ELEAGUE headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.

On March 31, ELEAGUE and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will host the ELEAGUE Mortal Kombat 11 Showdown. Eleven influencers from the Mortal Kombat community will stream from their own respective Twitch channels and compete for the highest amount of points.

NeverRealm Studios’ Mortal Kombat 11 will enter closed beta from March 28-31 and is available by invitation, as well as to those who pre-ordered the game on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. The beta will include five fighters—Scorpion, Skarlet, Baraka, Jade, and Kabal.

ELEAGUE Mortal Kombat 11 Showdown will run for four hours between 2-6 PM ET, during which time the players will face off against random online opponents. Points will be awarded for winning matches, with a bonus to be received if they can win matches using all five beta fighters.

A special set will be erected in the ELEAGUE headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, where commentators will stream live coverage. Commentators include David “UltraDavid” Graham and Ryan “Mr. Aquaman” Kablik, who will alternate between various influencer channels as the matches unfold.

Mortal Kombat 11 has also been announced as one of the main titles for the Evolution Championship Series (Evo) 2019.

ELEAGUE has partnered with a few publishers already this year, including Psyonix Studios Database-Link-e1521645463907 (Rocket League Database-Link-e1521645463907) and Electronic Arts Database-Link-e1521645463907 (FIFA 19 Database-Link-e1521645463907), both of which include TV broadcasting elements on cable channel TBS.
