Eiffel Tower has a new 377ft high zipline – and the top speed is a whopping 55mph

THRILL-seeking tourists can test their bravery by leaping from the Eiffel Tower thanks to a heart-stopping new zipline attraction.

Riders will be able to jump from 115m (377 feet) in the air, travelling up to 55mph along the way.

The 800m (2,624 feet) line will take riders from the tourist attraction to the Ecole Militaire at the bottom of Champ de Mars in just in 60 seconds.

The Paris attraction, known as the Smash Perrier, was launched by water brand Perrier.

The zip line first opened in 2017 for just seven days to celebrate the French Open.

This year, it has re-opened in celebration of the 130th anniversary of the Eiffel Tower, alongside the French Open.

Director of Communication at Perrier, Francoise Bresson, told Reuters that it was a “once in a lifetime experience,” adding that he was often asked to re-open the attraction.

Riders who want to have a go, however, cannot buy tickets and have to apply on social media.

A random draw from today (May 29) until June 2 on the Perrier Instagram page is the only way to win one of the free tickets.

The Eiffel Tower first opened in 1889 and welcomes between six and seven million visitors every year.

One of the world’s fastest city zipwires can be found in London in Archbishop Park, near Waterloo station.

Visitors can get great views of the city while travelling the 225m (738 feet) long line until October 1.

Thrill-seekers can also try the UK’s only alpine coaster in Snowdonia in 2017.
