To get it, you just need to register on EE’s special NHS website using an NHS email address.

You’ll then receive an SMS confirming when your account has been boosted to unlimited data.

The offer is also available to NHS workers who already receive discounts on their monthly mobile plans.

EE says it’s always given NHS staff 20 per cent off their monthly line rental for mobiles and tablets when they join or upgrade directly, which is also extended to friends and family.

What are other mobile providers doing to help customers?

HERE’S what other mobile companies are doing to help customers during the coronavirus lockdown:

O2

  • Giving customers access to important websites, such as Gov.uk and NHS.UK without using your data allowance.
  • Removed charges on Hospedia hospital phones so you won’t pay more than the 13p/minute that Hospedia charges. It will also credit any charges back to anyone that has used this service since the start of the pandemic.

Three

  • Reducing the price of its Pay Monthly International Saver Add-on from £15.32 to £10, so people can stay connected with people in 31 destinations around the world for less.

Vodafone

The move follows a string of help already being offered by EE.

Those registered with EE as vulnerable or disabled, for example, have been given unlimited data, calls and texts for the immediate future.

While all households with EE or its parent company BT have also been given unlimited broadband during the lockdown.

BT says it’s also raised £282,000 for the NHS Charities Together for Covid-19 Urgent Appeal.

This cash is from customers who have opted to donate refunds from unused BT Sport packages while there is no live action being shown.
