TRNSMT festival is returning to its traditional slot after years of pandemic turmoil, and there’s a huge line-up at Glasgow Green this weekend to celebrate. Luckily, Edith Bowman, BBC Scotland presenter, has picked her top ten TRNSMT artists for Metro.

So clear your calendars for a gigfest of the very best, from Wet Leg to Paolo Nutini and The Strokes.

Lewis Capaldi, Wolf Alice and Beabadoobee are also sure to have fans a-rocking, never mind Foals, Brooke Combe, The Snuts and Self-Esteem.

Wolf Alice

I love this band. I wish I’d had Wolf Alice when I was growing up. Singer Ellie Rowsell would have been my total hero, I mean she is anyway. I just admire their journey as a band, they get better and better, and boy do they put the work in. No one like them.
Sun, Main Stage, 7.40pm-8.40pm

Beabadoobee

Again on my list to see live. I missed her at two other festivals so I’m hoping that TRNSMT is my time. Annie Mac played that first single, She Plays Bass, on the radio and I was hooked.
Fri, King Tut’s Stage, 8.20pm-9.20pm

Wet Leg

Sound of summer from indie band Wet Leg

Definitely the band of the moment. I can guarantee you they are very much more than one hit wonders (Chaise Longue). I’ve seen them twice over the summer and they have such a unique presence that is infectious and very immersive to watch.
Sat, King Tut’s Stage, 4.10pm-4.50pm

Self Esteem

I’ve not had the chance to see her live. I’ve been immersed in her music for the past year and cannot wait. What a fantastic role model, performer and talent.
Sat, King Tut’s Stage, 5.20pm-6.05pm

Paolo Nutini

We have waited so long I might self-combust. The new album is sublime and I know it’s going to be a special moment for him. I can’t wait to hear Lose It live.
Fri, Main Stage, 9.10pm-10.50pm

Lewis Capaldi

Lewis smashes it out of the park

Guess who’s back? I saw him headline a festival last month and he was so nervous but smashed it out the park. That voice – there is nothing that stands between Lewis and the crowd, it’s such an intimate experience.
Sun, Main Stage, 9.20pm-10.50pm

The Strokes

I mean it’s The Strokes. In Scotland. A band I’ve loved for an age. I’ve seen them in all sorts of settings. Never ones for much chat but the tunes speak for themselves.
Sat, Main Stage, 9.20pm-10.50pm

Foals

Feel the energy of Foals

One of the best live bands around. I love Foals and love their energy. It’s been amazing to see them grow both as a band and their fan base.
Sat, Main Stage, 7.40pm-8.40pm

Brooke Combe

Brooke’s vocals are top class

An amazing new Scottish singer-songwriter who has a very impressive set of pipes on her. Her voice will amaze you.
Fri, King Tut’s Stage, 1.10pm-1.40pm

The Snuts

After having to pull out last year it’s so great to have the West Lothian lads back and getting their chance to blow the crowd away.
Sat, Main Stage, 6.10pm-7.10pm

TRNSMT 2022 runs from Friday until Sunday. Edith Bowman will host coverage on the BBC Scotland channel from 10pm on Friday.
