Edinburgh recruiter swoops on rival to make senior appointment

Edinburgh-based recruiter Core-Asset Consulting has swooped on a rival to make a senior level appointment covering financial services.

It has appointed Chris Donald as a senior business manager from a similar role at Change Recruitment where he spent eight years.

The move will see him reunited with John Docherty, associate director accounting and finance, who first hired Chris Donald at Change Recruitment, before joining Core-Asset himself in 2012.

It will allow Core-Asset’s accountancy and finance team to expand its offering in placing accountancy and financial professional in Scottish businesses.

It will seek to develop its financial services practice while also partnering firms in areas such as energy/renewables, listed businesses and fintech.

Donald’s remit will see him overseeing moves from qualified accountants through to manager level, progressing to more senior appointments in new sectors, while Docherty will continue to work with senior appointments.

Docherty said: “Chris brings a wealth of expertise and will work well within our service-driven model.”

“I’m excited Chris is joining and to be able to introduce him to clients, many of whom already know him well.”

Based in Edinburgh’s west end, Core-Asset has recently posted its most successful year since launching in 2005.

From the outset, the business carved its reputation within Scotland’s asset management sector. However, the success of its model allowed it to expand across the wider financial services market.

In addition to a dedicated accounting and finance team, it also works in Scotland’s thriving legal sector.
