Eddie Murphy has revealed the unlikely topic he and former US President Barack Obama bonded over when they met four years ago.

And, nope, it wasn’t exactly world peace – more how to keep those pesky grey hairs at bay.

Eddie, who is busy promoting his new Netflix movie Dolemite Is My Name, stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Friday and recalled his one-on-one with Obama.

He explained that he’s got a picture of the pair together at the White House back in 2015 and at that exact moment the snap was taken, Obama was quizzing him on his hair care routine.

‘You know what we talked about? He talked about my hair,’ Eddie revealed. ‘He was like, “What kind of rinse are you using?” I was like, “What?” and then he said, “You don’t have any grey hairs.”‘

Who’d have thought it, eh?

Unluckily for Obama, Eddie explained that he doesn’t actually colour his hair. He’s just blessed with a beautifully grey-free bonce.

Apparently, Obama also inspired 58-year-old actor Eddie to get back into stand-up comedy.

The Nutty Professor star revealed that the first thing Obama had asked him when they met was why he no longer did stand-up and, well, it got Eddie thinking it might be time for him to pick up the mic again.

He’s planning on doing just that after bringing back Beverly Hills Cop for a fourth movie.

The original was released in 1984, with the second film following three years later in 1987 and a third hitting the big screen in 1994.

Now, Eddie wants another Beverly Hills Cop movie and hopes it’ll be his next project after wrapping up the sequel of Coming to America.

Speaking to Collider, he said: ‘We’re doing Beverly Hills Cop and then the plan is to get back on stage and do stand-up. That’s what I’ll be doing mostly is stand-up.’
