Ed Sheeran’s manager paid £30m in one year as singer is named richest British celeb under 30

Ed Sheeran isn’t the only one winning in his camp as his own manager reportedly earned a cool £30 million in just one year.

Stuart Camp, who has managed the chart-topping popstar for eight years, is estimated to have grossed £29.5 million from his company Grumpy Old Management in the past year.

According to figures published on Companies House, Stuart’s business took just £3 million less than Ed Sheeran Limited, which received £32.6 million in payments throughout 2018.

No doubt Stuart’s earnings were boosted thanks to Ed’s mammoth Divide tour, which grossed an estimated $776.2 million (£599.4 million) from 258 shows performed.

Stuart’s humble beginnings included working in the food industry before joining Rocket Music, a company co-founded by Sir Elton John. Since then, Stuart has gone on to manage the likes of Lily Allen and James Blunt.

He began managing Ed, 28, in 2014 and has helped to steer the popstar’s lucrative career which has included multiple number ones around the world and Grammy and Brit Awards.

It means Ed has bumped Adele off the number one spot on Heat’s list as the songstress is now 31-years-old.

Stuart opened up about his relationship with Ed, and revealed that the singer’s sense of humour includes putting a ‘stupid clause’ in contracts, such as the manager having to carry around a laminated photo of Harry Potter’s Fred and George Weasley.

‘I have to have that with me at all times. Stupid things like that,’ Stuart said on the BBC Introducing podcast Does My Music Suck? recently.

The businessman also admitted Ed’s team are ‘conscious’ of making sure they’re not doing ‘overkill’ when pushing him in the spotlight.
