Ed Sheeran’s manager has revealed the singer is quite the joker and likes to stitch him up every time it comes to renegotiating his contract.
Stuart Camp has been managing Ed since 2011 and the pair have firmly become close pals over the years – even recently opening up a pub together in Notting Hill.
Such a friendship means that Ed likes to get a little playful with his BFF and manager from time to time and adds ‘stupid clauses’ into his managing contract, just to stitch him up a little.
Appearing on the new BBC Introducing podcast, set to launch this month, Stuart revealed that he always gets ‘nervous’ when striking up management deals with Ed.
‘Every year he puts a stupid clause in it that I have to proceed with,’ Stuart reveals to Rob Adcock. ‘It’s the honest to God truth.’
The latest requirement? Stuart has to carry around a laminated picture of Fred and George Weasley from the Harry Potter movies.
‘I have to carry a picture of them in my wallet at all times,’ he explained. ‘I have a little laminated card of those lovely twins.
‘I have to have that with me at all time. It’s in my management contract. Stupid things like that.’
Stuart went on to reveal that Ed, who raked in over £17million last year, has actually ‘misunderstood’ his own contract. He thinks that Stuart has to show the picture to people everywhere he goes.
‘If I’m in [a magazine] and there isn’t a picture of it, he rings me and says, “You’re in breach.”‘
We’ve gotta hand it to Ed, that’s pretty funny, no?
