Jessie is best known for playing loud-mouthed Kat Slater in EastEnders. However, it’s now been reported the feisty character will be temporarily written out of the soap after the actress was suspended following an alleged incident on set. Bosses are said to be scrambling to come up with a way for Kat to leave Albert Square.

According to The Mirror, soap bosses were left with “no choice” but to discipline Jessie.

An insider explained: “During the meeting she was told to sort herself out before returning to work.”

Jessie’s character Kat is expected to play a part in the soap’s upcoming 35th birthday celebrations.

The insider added: “She’s one of EastEnders’ biggest stars and this huge anniversary is such an exciting time for everyone working on the show.

“There’s a real buzz around the set, as everyone is very much looking forward to celebrating the milestone.

“Thankfully all of the episodes she appears in on the boat along the Thames have been shot.”

However, a source told the Daily Star on Sunday, bosses are now rushing to try and find a way to temporarily write Kat out.

However, to explain Kat’s exit, bosses could split the pair up with the Slater matriarch deciding to leave Walford to get over her broken heart.

Another storyline which could see her hunt down former flame Alfie Moon (Shane Ritchie), who fled Albert Square in early 2019.

Jessie has been part of the EastEnders family for almost 20 years and has starred in many iconic storylines.

Recent storylines have seen Kat under pressure as the Slater family were almost evicted from their home over Christmas.
