Eastenders star Lacey Turner has named her baby daughter Dusty Violet Kay.
The actress gave birth to her first child with husband Matt Kay on July 12.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Turner revealed that she and Kay decided on the name after an Internet search.
“[Dusty] wasn’t on our original list but we did an Internet search for ‘pretty girls names’ and we both said it at the same time!” she told the publication.
“Her middle name is Violet, which I also love,” she added. “We’ve had mixed reactions, people either think it’s really cool or they don’t really know what to say!”
Kay said that the couple’s daughter, who was born weighing 6lb 7oz, “wasn’t named after” Dusty Springfield, despite the singer being “the only other Dusty [he] know[s].”
The actress has previously opened up about suffering two miscarriages before the pregnancy, and Kay added that the past loss made their baby joy “more special.”
“I think everything happens for a reason and it does make Dusty being here more special – we’re so lucky to have her in our lives,” he said.
Speaking to This Morning’s Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield earlier this year, Turner revealed that she had refused to get her hopes up about the pregnancy after her experiences with miscarriage.
“I ignored it until I was 10 weeks,” she told the presenting duo. “I thought maybe that would work.
“I got to seven weeks and thought, ‘Don’t get excited,’ then eight, nine, my family would say it was time and I told my mum not to talk about it.
“It wasn’t until I got to about 20 weeks and then I thought, ‘Ooh, maybe we are going to have a baby.’”
