EastEnders star Jessie Wallace says ‘she needs time out’ after being suspended for allegedly drunk and abusive on the Albert Square set.
The TV favourite was suspended over fifteen years ago for her punctuality and partying lifestyle, but this is believed to be her last chance.
Jessie, real name Karen Jane Wallace, gas been told that she must sort her priorities out or face being axed completely from the iconic BBC show, report the Sun.
They claim Jessie knows she can’t afford another bump in the road and is taking the suspension more serious than her first.
The 48-year-old plans to keep out of the spotlight for eight weeks, with insiders claiming that she is adamant she will get her head straight.
Speaking to The Sun, a friend said: “She knows one more strike and she could be out. Something needs to change. It’s a well known saying within EastEnders that nobody is bigger than the soap.”
Since emerging onto the Square in 2000, the mum-of-one’s behaviour has been compared to her character – notorious for outbursts and fallouts.
But Soap execs rate Kat Slater as one of the soaps most iconic characters, alongside Peggy Mitchell, Dot Branning and Pat Butcher.
Jessie’s latest troubles broke over the weekend and comes after her split from Paul Keepin – who the actress dated for almost two years.
It’s believed that during the soap’s 35th-anniversary episode Jessie appeared rowdy and tipsy.
These allegations come 18 months after she was sent home from the British Soap Awards for being too drunk – before she managed to walk the red carpet.
Jessie’s behaviour in the past lead to her falling out with iconic actress, Barbra Windsor who said: “She was young. She was always late. I lost my temper. I erupted.”
