EastEnders star Diane Parish and partner get engaged in coronavirus lockdown

EastEnders’ star Diane Parish has revealed that she is engaged to long-term partner Gerry Zucarello.

The actress, who plays Denise Fox in the BBC soap, and her beau shared the happy news on social media amid the coronavirus lockdown.

Diane, 50, and Gerry, 52, have been dating for three years.

The soap star, who has played Denise for 12 years, has two daughters from a previous relationship, Kaya, 12, and Kenya, 14, from her romance with Sebastian Parish.

It’s believed that she is hoping to tie the knot with Gerry as soon as possible.

Diane and Gerry announced their engagement over the weekend to close pals

Speaking to The Sun, a source close to the couple revealed: “Diane and Gerry met through pals and have been quietly dating for three years.

“Gerry said he and Diane were engaged after they had been spending time at home during the lockdown.

“Diane was close to marrying her ex, so has been wary about this engagement – but is loved up and on top of the world.”

Diane and Gerry started dating three years ago according to an insider

The insider went on to reference EastEnders halting production amid the coronavirus lockdown: “She is enjoying having time on her hands to plan the wedding.

“She is thinking about a small, intimate ceremony involving all their kids and close friends.”

It was announced earlier in the month that the BBC would be halving the number of episodes they would be airing per week in order for EastEnders to remain on screens for as long as possible.

Parish has played the role of Denise Fox for the past 12 years

Meanwhile, EastEnders spoilers recently teased that Phil Mitchel could be in bother as the Walford hardman realised how devastated his ex-wife Sharon is over the tragic death of her son, Denny.

Phil is set to reveal to cops that it was his fault that the boat crashed during the iconic 35th-anniversary episode, causing him to believe he is responsible for Denny’s death.

EastEnders airs tonight at 7:30pm on BBC One.
