EastEnders spoilers: Mick and Ruby 'for sordid affair' as they grow close

EastEnders fans have been speculating that the upcoming wife swap competition organised by Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) will end in trouble for a few couples involved.

Viewers of the BBC One soap reckon that Mick will have an affair with Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) after they grew close in last night’s episode.

Many Walford couples have been separated and paired off with other members of the square, with Mick and Ruby being matched up together.

That means Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) has been paired with Ruby’s boyfriend Max Branning (Jake Wood) for the duration.

Ruby’s now living in the Queen Vic while Linda is over at Max’s house, where his brother Jack (Scott Maslen) also lives.

After touching scenes last night, viewers think Mick could end up having an affair with Ruby – he does have form, after all.

One tweeted: “Mick will definitely get the hots for Ruby now.”

A second said: “They better not start any stupid plot that will make Ruby and Mick sleep together.”

Someone else said: “Mick and Ruby. Hmm. I sense a little spark.”

Mick had been touched by Ruby’s actions when he noticed she was clearing up after his little boy Ollie.

The landlord has been having a tough time recently, dealing with his anxiety attacks as well as Ollie being diagnosed as autistic.

Last night’s episode saw him discover that wife Linda had been charged with drink-driving too, throwing another spanner in the works.

As the episode ended, Mick tried to call Linda and apologise for their argument after he found out, but she didn’t pick up.

Fans saw that Linda didn’t answer because she was passed out from drinking too much on Max’s sofa.

Could Linda’s alcoholism and Ruby’s kind actions cause Mick to stray?

It wouldn’t be the first time, as he had an affair with Whitney a few years ago.

EastEnders continues tonight at 8.30pm on BBC One
