EastEnders spoilers: Mel Owen’s death sealed as history repeats itself?

Mel Owen (played by Tamzin Outhwaite) and Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) took it a step too far in the most recent episode of EastEnders which ended with a fatal car crash for Mel, resembling the death of her husband.

Mel was seen out of control last night when she aimed to get the ultimate revenge on the Mitchells.

The businesswomen threw a party for Louise and Sharon to stage her revenge by making an announcement on speaker that would reveal Sharon and Keanu’s (Danny Walters) affair.

Racing Sharon to the airport to get to Phil (Steve McFadden), Mel decided to make an announcement through her phone which was heard through the speakers.

As the party attendees gathered, she said: “Sorry about this everyone but it won’t take long. Be back to the fun before you know it.

“I just want to say something… what you might call a few home truths,” she continued.

A beeping car could be heard through the speakers but Mel continued to talk, clearly distracted.

Out of nowhere, a blue van swerved in front of her and the look of shock was seen on her face as the car flipped and crashed.

The E20 guests were stunned when they heard everything. The scenes echoed the death of her husband Steve Owen (Martin Kemp) who died in 2002.

Will Mel die like her late husband?

The grieving mother was desperately trying to expose Sharon and Keanu by hosting the party.

Mel sped off to track Phil down in the airport before Sharon got to him.

She then got hold of Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) and instructed him to make sure everyone was there for her announcement

Best friend Lisa Fowler (Lucy Benjamin) was concerned for her but the two recently started to fall out.

Lisa didn’t like the fact the Mel was getting too close to Louis (Tilly Keeper). First, she tried to convince them to move to Portugal, then she became a little possessive of Louis’ baby and then throwing a joined birthday party.

If Mel cared about Louis, why would she try and humiliate her in front of everyone with the truth?

It is clear the grieving mother needed help but is it too late?

Elsewhere on EastEnders, Martin Fowler (James Bye) and Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) headed for a destructive marriage that recently broke down but coming episodes will see Martin make a shocking discovery which could see Stacey exit the square.

Fans have seen Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) torment Martin and his family but upcoming episode will see him tie all ends as he realises he has been causing Martin a great deal of pain.

Just when he will be left in high spirits, Stacey will be nowhere to be found and Martin will desperately start searching for answers.

EastEnders continues tomorrow at 7.30pm on BBC One.
