EastEnders spoilers: Linda Carter to murder Ruby Allen as she spirals out of control?

Linda (played by Kellie Bright) will be hoping the turn of the New Year on EastEnders will give her family a fresh start after her husband Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) has suffered numerous panic attacks over the past few months and their son Ollie Carter (Harry Farr) being diagnosed with autism. However, in denial she has a drinking problem, the BBC soap landlady will hit a new low in the final episodes of this year and Ruby (Louisa Lytton) could end up feeling the full force of her destructive path.

Viewers have seen Mick become concerned about his wife’s drinking in recent episodes, with the pair at loggerheads during the wife swap challenge which saw Linda spend the night under Max Branning’s (Jake Wood) roof.

Distraught his beloved had been charged with a drink driving offence, the Queen Vic landlord confided in Ruby about his marital woes, after she recently turned down her partner’s proposal.

The power couple then made peace, whilst the E20 club owner broke up with the Branning brother after sleeping with Martin Fowler (James Bye).

As Christmas and New Year celebrations get underway, the landlady’s problems will only become more evident, but if she believes her other half is having an affair, could she murder Ruby as her drunken delusions lead her to make a massive mistake?

Linda’s false beliefs could come after Ruby and Max join the pub owners for the Ball and Change winner’s dinner after being victors of the wife swap challenge on Christmas Eve.

The two women will end up clashing as the landlady misinterprets a joke made by the young club owner and turns up to the feast in fancy dress.

Having had a stand-off with the young woman, could any thoughts of an affair with Mick by thrown into disarray as she continues to drink?

Teasing the lengths turning to the bottle will take her character, actress Kellie, 43, said: “The thing about Linda is that when she is drunk, you see a side to her you’ve not seen before and it’s very unpredictable, dark and dangerous.”

“Having said that, her New Year’s Eve is pretty out there – it’s unbelievable and she does some horrendous things,” the actress added.

However, it’s not just her drinking struggles she has to contend with over the festive period as a surprise arrival trans things on its head.

Having been away from his family for almost three years, Lee Carter (Danny-Boy Hatchard) reunites with the clan for Christmas.

Linda’s son returning to the fold doesn’t come at the best of times as she and Mick clash once again over her drinking.

After rowing in front of their young son Ollie, the troubled character will head out into the Square where she falls asleep in the cold.

Even despite Lee being back in the picture and her marriage on the line, Linda will still be driven back to the bottle.

Could they end up turning on her, especially if she were to be the culprit behind a shock death if Ruby is killed?

“It would literally take Linda losing her family for her to confront her problems,” Kellie explained.

EastEnders continues tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.
