EastEnders spoilers: Jean Slater set for tragedy hours after marrying Daniel?

EastEnders’ Jean Slater (played by Gillian Wright) has had her hands full recently as she cares for her boyfriend Daniel Cook (Adrian Edmondson), who is suffering with terminal cancer. Daniel recently returned from faking his own death, which he did with good intentions to spare Jean the heartbreak.

Despite his pain, Daniel is still full of jokes but his blasé attitude about the situation begins to frustrate Jean.

Will he decide to pop the question to the doting carer while they still have time left?

Fans have watched as he she nurses him night and day, ending with Daniel making Jean a moving promise – that he won’t let go of life until he knows she has the all-clear from her own battle with cancer.

In coming episodes, Jean will be over the moon to find out that she is cancer free after attending her oncology appointment, but worried about the conversation she had had with Daniel previously.

Wanting him to stay with her, Jean decides to lie to her love, telling him she hasn’t yet received the results.

But this will only be ruined by Mo Harris (Laila Morse), who tells him about the good news.

As Jean and Daniel sit in the Square Gardens, she runs to fetch him a drink.

Elsewhere in Walford, Callum Highway (Tony Clay) is still missing.

Despite Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) confessing to tying him up and leaving him in an abandoned warehouse, Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) came home empty handed after she went to save him.

In an attempt to escape, Callum fell through the floor and landed in a heap, covered in rubble.

Laying there lifeless and with Keanu now out of the picture, will his soulmate Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) and Callum’s brother Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) be able to get to him in time as he lies there cold, injured and alone?
