The drama kicks off when Patrick decides to get his son on side by going drinking with him, Jack and Max Branning (Jake Wood) and it seems the pair are beginning to make a breakthrough.
However, as the drinks flow, the youngster and the detective’s brother try to outdo one another, which leaves the police officer unimpressed.
Following a boozy night, the newcomer then heads to work the next day with a hangover and it seems his antics show cause for concern from one of his drinking partners.
Although he and his father seem to be making amends, Jack isn’t too sure about the mystery character and is disconcerted when it’s revealed he is a new teacher at Walford Primary.
