EastEnders delivered an extremely dramatic Christmas Day special episode last night which saw Martin Fowler (played by James Bye) kill Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) following an order from Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden). With another death to add to his list, Martin will now look over his shoulder every single day, worrying he will be exposed for his heinous crimes. And it seems there is one person he should be extremely wary of; Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero).
Keanu and Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) have been sleeping with one another for months behind Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Louise Mitchell’s (Tilly Keeper) back.
In a huge plot twist, Sharon found out she was pregnant, and the worst was confirmed when she did a paternity test and the baby’s DNA matched Keanu’s.
Determined to keep her secret, fans of EastEnders were surprised to learn how Tilly knew all along about their affair, as she revealed herself to be the mystery blackmailer sending Sharon threatening text messages back in the summer last week.
Last night, the whole sordid situation exploded, but it was not the Mitchell’s who physically got their revenge, instead, Ben took control of the aftermath and summoned Martin to do their dirty work.
Scenes showed Martin knocking Keanu out by drugging him, and then supposedly killing him in a warehouse far away from Walford.
In an attempt to prove his capabilities to Ben, the fruit and veg market stall holder filmed Keanu’s death on his mobile phone.
And once the body was disposed of, he returned to the Square and met Ben down an alleyway where he played the footage.
But, it seems Martin should be careful about where he places that phone, because there is one person who is out to get him – Dotty.
Having been suspicious of Martin ever since he pinned her up against the wall, what lengths will Dotty go to in order to destroy him?
There is a strong possibility this storyline will develop and show Dotty rifling through Martin’s phone to try and find evidence to pin Martin for the attempted back transfer.
But what is going to happen should she find the video of Keanu being shot?
Elsewhere in the Square, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) is going to make a big decision.
It comes as the Queen Vic landlady has been turning to the bottle in recent weeks as a coping mechanism for the changes in her life.
Unable to deal with her son’s autism diagnosis, she is determined to soldier on – drunk.
When husband Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) issues her an ultimatum, it will be a sad moment when Linda chooses the alcohol over her husband and marriage.
EastEnders returns tomorrow night on BBC One.
