Sean Slater’s explosive comeback to EastEnders – which has already seen him kidnap Amy Branning – will take a heartbreaking twist in tonight’s episode.

When he finds out the shocking truth, a devastated Sean is left heartbroken.

EastEnders fans will remember that the last time Sean saw Roxy was back in 2009 after finding out Jack Branning was Amy baby’s biological dad – not him.

Distraught, he tired to end his life along with Roxy and Amy’s by driving them all into a frozen lake.

Roxy managed to escape and get her little girl to safety before heading back into the water to get Sean – but he didn’t want to be saved. Instead, he tried to convince Roxy to die in the water with him – but she told him they had a little girl they needed to look after.

Sean then pointed to the shore where Roxy’s sister Ronnie and Jack were holding Amy.

He told Roxy that Amy would be fine as they had her now – but Roxy said that no one was having their baby except them. She asked Sean to take her hand,
which he tentatively did. But before they could head back to dry land together, the ice gave way and both Sean and Roxy were pulled into the icy water.

Roxy became tangled in some weeds and Sean freed her, while Ronnie dived in and dragged her to safety.
Back under the ice however, Sean swam away, suggesting he wanted to end his own life. Roxy panicked when Ronnie told her Sean hadn’t come back up, and
pleaded with her to find him.
But, unseen by Jack and Ronnie, Sean pulled himself out of the water and began to make his way back to Roxy. However, she shook her head and quietly told him to go, while Jack and Ronnie believed he must have drowned.

Sean had been devastated when he found out that Amy wasn’t his baby.

Roxy and Ronnie’s dad, Archie, broke the news over Christmas dinner, causing Sean went into meltdown and kidnap Amy.
He eventually gave her to his sister Stacey who returned her to Roxy. He told Stacey that he wanted a few more days with the little girl before kissing her
goodbye and telling her their dad was waiting for him.

After Sean left EastEnders, he and Roxy didn’t speak again.
Roxy died on New Year’s Day 2017 when she jumped into a hotel pool after taking cocaine. Her heart gave out but Ronnie dived in after her in an attempt
to saver her sister. Ronnie was in her wedding dress and it got caught up in the vents, dragging her under too. Both sisters drowned just hours after Ronnie married Jack.

  • EastEnders is on BBC One tonight at 8pm
