EastEnders babe Natalie Cassidy, who plays Sonia Fowler in the BBC One soap, has confessed she finally feels “at ease” with herself following her three stone weight loss.
The 36-year-old lost over 42 pounds last year and says she followed three very simple but “boring” steps to lose the weight.
She began her weight loss journey as she took on the London Marathon in 2019 for the charity Dementia Revolution in honour of her co-star Barbara Windsor, who has been diagnosed with the disease.
Natalie has confessed she feels “more confident” about “who I am and what I look like” since she made some lifestyle changes.
She told Daily Express Saturday magazine: “I feel very at ease with myself now, as I’ve got older.
“Throughout the years I’ve gone through a lot of ups and downs.”
The star went on to reveal that she followed three “simple” steps, which included eating well, exercising and drinking lots of water.
Natalie continued: “Now, I just know the simple things that work – eat well, exercise, drink lots of water.
“All the boring things but I feel like my body is the size it should be now.
“I’m 37 in May. I’ve been through a lot in my life and I feel more confident about who I am and what I look like, 100 percent.”
She also opened up on how she hasn’t always felt confident in her own skin and confessed that growing up in the spotlight was tough.
Natalie said: ” I was called a ‘beached whale’ when I was 12. It was awful.
“I understand now why my mum was so angry and protective of me, I would be exactly the same if it was one of my daughters.
“But you do develop a thick skin, you have to really.”
