EastEnders Max Bowden reveals surprising fact about Phil Mitchell showdown scene


Fans tuning in for BBC One’s EastEnders were given a treat tonight as “deathly” tense scenes unfolded on their screens.

Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) came to blows with it ending tragically for the youngster, with dad Phil kicking him out of the house.

As Phil set out to find out exactly who attacked him and left him in a coma to die, some disturbing facts were revealed about his own son, including the fact Ben framed Keanu.

Following epic scenes showing Phil and Ben having a full-blown altercation, fans rushed to Twitter to praise the pair for their acting.


This led to Max taking to his official Twitter account to share a little fact about the scene with his 31,000 followers.

The actor wrote: “Thank you so much for the kind words of support towards this episode.

“Fun fact, that scene was one take! Love working with Steve so much.” Max then thanked the director of the soap for his work, he added: “Christopher McGill you’re a joy.”

After watching the intense scene, one viewer penned on Twitter: “That conversation between Ben and Phil tonight was one of the best and well-acted scenes EastEnders has delivered in a long time and a perfect example of why Max Bowden’s Ben Mitchell is the best version of the character by a mile and one of the best soap characters full stop.”

Another gushed: “Max Bowden’s acting in tonights EastEnders was one of the best performances I’ve seen in soap, and any tv for that matter, in a LONG time.

“The layers and emotion and nuance he brings to Ben is incredible and he and Steve McFadden together are gold.”
