EastEnders legend June Brown fears 'killer robots will put a knife in you'

EastEnders star June Brown has opened up about her fear of technology and worry that ‘killer robots’ will finish the human race.

The 92-year-old, who plays Dot Cotton on Albert Square, has admitted that she is not embracing modern day technology and is fearing a time when Artificial Intelligence takes over.

While grappling with a smartphone could confuse a good number of people, June is worried that robots will become out aides and companions, before turning on us in a sci-fi nightmare.

Speaking about a shocking scenario, in which ‘killer robots’ will rise up against the human race, June shared her thoughts on how it would all pan out.

June told the Daily Star: “Imagine having a robot in your sitting room.

“I don’t suppose it could develop a brain, but it might decide to put a knife in you!

“I wouldn’t trust it.”

June then went on to say where this could end up: “I don’t know what’ll happen – maybe the end of the world. That’s cheerful!”

In the hope of avoiding falling victim of corrupt technology, June revealed that she makes sure she has minimal contact with anything ‘more advanced than a basic mobile phone’.

June admitted: “I’m technology illiterate. I don’t bother with computers, although I have an electronic reader.

“I can play CDs and I can use an ordinary mobile.

The emotional exit of Dr Legg helped produce a masterclass from Dot

“But with mobiles now, all these funny things come up when I just want to make calls.

“Then there’s text speak, like ‘C U 2moro’. It’s like hieroglyphics.”

It is probably not worth mentioning to June about a future in which driverless cars are a possibility as it could signal that the revolution has begun.
