EastEnders' Keanu lets slip affair to Phil – but fans fume at plot 'blunder'

EastEnders ‘ Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) was fuming when he finally found out the truth tonight, as he noticed something about what Keanu (Danny Walters) told him.

The EastEnders cast member had said about seeing a stag do of men in Santa hats in summer at a hotel, not knowing that Sharon had told the same story earlier.

Phil looked murderous as he realised what was happening, and looks sure to take a sick revenge tomorrow night.

But fans were left baffled as they couldn’t help but point out the similarity between EastEnders and Friends, when Joey found out about Monica and Chandler.

Sharon started the episode by talking about hunky men coming out of a lift in Santa hats while she was at a hotel

Joey worked out that Chandler and Monica were secretly sleeping together as they both told the same story about seeing Donald Trump come out of an elevator while away at different conferences.

One wrote on social media: “Did EastEnders just steal that reveal from Friends?”

Another added: “It would appear that EastEnders have copied Friends – in how they have outed Keanu & Sharon … the ol’ ‘matching odd elevator story’ was how Monica & Chandler’s secret affair was discovered.”

A third chipped in: “As if Eastenders legit just stole a Friends storyline.”

A fourth wrote: “That revelation was EXACTLY like Joey finding out about Monica and Chandler! Saw Donald Trump waiting for an elevator.”

It looks like Louise has worked out the truth too, as she quizzed Keanu and Sharon about their claims that he had given her step-mum a personal training session last summer.

Fans couldn’t help but notice that the plot line was the same as Friends

While the pair managed to lie their way out of it, or so they thought, it looks like all of their lies are about to come tumbling down around them.

A murder has been teased for tomorrow night, with soap boss Kate Oates telling Daily Star Online and other press: “You learn that if you cross one Mitchell you cross them all.

“There’s a little bit of a twist in there as to who’s going to deliver the killer blow and so that’s pretty much kind of part of it.”

EastEnders continues tomorrow at 9.30pm on BBC.
