EastEnders James Forde looks very different as he turns builder after Liam Butcher exit

EastEnders‘ James Forde, who played Liam Butcher on the soap until 2015, has landed a new job as a builder.

The former EastEnders cast member appeared on the soap from 2008 to 2015, before leaving with Cindy Williams and her baby Beth.

James, now 23, has revealed he is now making money in the building trade, and received praise from his fans as he shared the news on social media.

He is certainly all grown up now, sporting a beard as he posed for a selfie in his new uniform, looking a far cry from his schoolboy alterego.

The caption on one of James’s Insta photos was “Bob the Builder”, to which a fan replied with the iconic question: “Can we fix it?”

James is not the first soap star to have a normal job after leaving soap land, with EastEnders’ Katie Jarvis, who played Hayley Slater from 2018 to 2019, getting a job working in superstore B&M in Romford after her exit.

James’ fans rushed to praise him for his new job after he announced the news

Her fellow EastEnders co-star Tom Watt, who played Lofty Holloway, an original character from when the soap started in 1985, went on to become a sports journalist.

Corrie’s Martin Platt, played by Sean Wilson until 2005, left acting behind to start running a cheese-making business.

And Hollyoaks’ Gemma Merna, who played Carmen McQueen, followed her passion and became a personal trainer and yoga instructor.

James’ character Liam was best known for his struggles at school after being diagnosed as dyslexic.

Liam Butcher first left the soap in 2015 with Cindy Williams and baby Beth

He left the soap after announcing he was moving to Germany to live with Ricky, who left Walford in 2012.

Liam demanded £100,000 for him and Cindy to start a new life from Jane and Ian Beale, as he tried to blackmail them by saying he would tell the police that Bobby killed Lucy Beale.

He and Cindy left as Jane promised she would pay them regularly to keep them quiet.

Could he return to the soap to see his little sister Tiffany, who is still on the soap?
