EastEnders former Lucy Beale actress Melissa Suffield gives birth to first child


EastEnders actress Melissa Suffield has given birth to a baby boy.

The 26-year-old soap star who used to play Lucy Beale on the beloved BBC programme announced the news on her Instagram earlier today after welcoming her son into the world two days ago.

She’s become a parent for the first time alongside fiance and father of baby, Robert Brendan.

Melissa shared an adorable string of snaps on her social media page earlier today, showing off her gorgeous baby boy to her 11.2k followers.

The first snap showed her staring lovingly down at her son who was cradled in her arms.

In the second photograph, Melissa’s beau was gazing at his baby boy, reaching over with his hand to touch the little one’s adorable face.

Melissa shared the heartfelt snap on social media with the caption: “River Jefferson Carter-Robinson 16.03.2020 What a perfect little human we appear to have made.

“We could not be more obsessed with you.” finishing the adorable post with five heart emojis.

She welcomed her baby son into the world days ago with beau Robert Brendan

Her devoted followers flocked to the Instagram snaps, showering the actress with adoration and congratulations.

One said: “Oh my goodness. Congratulations!! I bet you’re so happy.”

While another gushed: “Congratulations I’ve enjoyed seeing your pregnancy posts. Enjoy your precious bundle from a mum of 2 gorgeous boys.”

A third commented saying: “Congratulations! He is beautiful. I love the name River too.”

Melissa played the original Lucy Beale on EastEnders

“Awwwww he is so tiny! Congratulations.” added a fourth Melissa fan.

Melissa shot to stardom on popular television show EastEnders back in 2004, when she joined the soap at the age of 11.

She played the role of Lucy Beale until 2010, when she was axed from the soap.

Her character Lucy Beale eventually died in the soap in 2014.
