EastEnders fans gobsmacked as Callum finally comes clean about Ben affair

In tonight’s EastEnders, viewers got to see the stag and hen parties for Callum Highway (Tony Clay) and almost wife Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty).

Next week will see the soap’s episodes focus on the wedding day, with major drama confirmed – including a shooting at the Queen Vic.

And it seems the fireworks are already starting, as Callum confessed all to Whitney about his affair with Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden).

The admission of guilt came after Callum had a deep conversation with Ben, who was nursing wounds caused by Stuart (Ricky Champ).

Stuart attacked Ben to keep him away from the stag party, leaving Callum fuming – but when he checked on him, things went from bad to worse.

Ben tried to shove Callum away and elbowed him, resulting in Callum punching Ben and sending him flying.

The duo sat down and an angry Callum fumed: “I am so sick of everyone thinking they know what’s best for me – I know. I know!”

After a moment of silence, he told Ben to “get it over with” and say whatever he was thinking.

Callum offered: “That I’m weak, I’m stupid, I’m lying to myself. Have I missed anything?

“Do you know what? You’re right, Ben. My head is all over the place. Most days I don’t know if I’m coming or going or how to put things right, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love her.

“This and her are two completely different things. Whitney means the world to me. Right now, that’s all that matters.

“This, whatever’s happened before, it is over, because I ain’t like you Ben. I ain’t stuck in the past thinking everyone’s against me, trying to fight the world all the time.

“I’m looking forward, not back. Right now, I’ve got a stag do to go to.”

As he went to leave, Ben told him: “You missed coward. You say you love her, she means the world to you.

“If that’s true, how’re you going to stand there tomorrow and marry her on a lie?

“You are going to hurt her sooner or later and you know that Callum, because you ain’t stupid. You are weak and you are lying to yourself and you are a coward for keeping her i the dark about who you really are.”

Callum eventually managed to get away and told Ben he was “right”, sparking him to go and see his fiancée Whitney.

Taking her home from her hen party, he admitted he’d cheated on her with Ben – but the Duff Duffs meant viewers will have to watch tomorrow’s episode to see what happens.

One thing for sure though, EastEnders is not to be missed at the moment.

And viewers couldn’t quite believe what they’d watched, with one tweeting: “Now that I did not expect!”

Another wrote: “I literally had to rewind it. Callum actually admitted it eeek!”

And a third added: “He told her! I did not expect him to come out with it like that, genuinely surprised! EastEnders you corker!”

EastEnders continues tomorrow at 8pm on BBC One.
