EastEnders and Our Girl star Danny-Boy Hatchard asks fans to pay for his drinks on Instagram for night out


FORMER EastEnders star Danny-Boy Hatchard begged hard-up fans to pay for his drinks over the weekend.

The BBC actor – who will appear in the new series of drama Our Girl opposite Michelle Keegan – asked his 136,000 followers on Instagram to pay for his drinks while he was celebrating at Manchester Pride on Saturday.

Tagging himself in a Wetherspoons, he posted to his followers: “Instagram, it’s Pride in Manchester. I’m at the Paramount spoons. If you buy it, I’ll drink it. #BeNice.”

Danny-Boy posted his table number allowing any fans to download the Wetherspoons app and buy him drinks.

A concerned fan hit out at the actor for cashing in on his fame and asking fans to buy him drinks.

The fan told The Sun Online: “He’s on TV but is asking fans to pay for his drinks when some of them might not be able to afford much themselves.

“Some of them might have been youngsters just wanting attention from their favourite actor – it’s really not on. He should know better.”

The actor is most famous for playing Lee Carter in EastEnders from 2014 to 2017 when the character was axed.

It was recently revealed that Danny-Boy had joined the new series of Our Girl as Private Rhett Charlton opposite star Michelle Keegan.

Described as “confident and cool” the Private also hides a darker manipulative side and has a history with another of the soldiers.

He said in a statement: “I’m buzzing to be joining the iconic 2 Section.

“Our Girl has always done a fantastic job representing our British troops, so I can’t wait to help tell more really cool stories.”
