Eamonn Holmes shocks with remark about Kate Middleton’s mother ‘Was it all set up?’

Eamonn Holmes has revealed what he would ask Carole Middleton – the mum of Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge – if he ever got to interview her. The broadcaster, who is married to Ruth Langsford, shocked host Kate Thornton with his choice on the latest episode of Yahoo’s White Wine Question Time. The 59-year-old said he wanted to quiz the 64-year-old on if her daughter’s relationship with Prince Williams was “all set up” and what it was like meeting the Queen. He went on to say he was less interested in speaking to politicians as they “don’t inspire me”.

Eamonn said he wanted free reign with Carole, but stated his questions would focus on Kate and Prince William.

He commented: “I’d say ‘C’mon did you plan it? Was it all set up? How important was it for you that the kid ended up with William?’”

When asked if that was his own opinion on them, the father-of-four replied: “I’m the interviewer. I’m only asking. It’s not about what I think.”

The This Morning favourite went on to say he wants to know if Carole gave the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge any advice.

Eamonn continued: “I’d ask, ‘What was it like meeting Queenie and Prince Phillip? Has it changed your life? Have you cashed in on being connected to the royals?”

Presenter Kate was seemingly shocked at his choice, saying she thought he’d have selected a footballer – he is an avid supporter of Manchester United – or politician.

Discussing the fact that he does not vote, annoying his audience, Eamonn stated: “They love to be able to say Tory boy, Tory boy or you’re just so red. It’s unbelievable.”

Prince William and Kate met in 2001 when they were studying at the University of St Andrews, before marrying a decade later.

They are now parents to Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four, and one-year-old Prince Louis.

Meanwhile, it comes just days after Eamonn Holmes caused a stir after “sneakily” taking an “unhappy” snap of wife Ruth Langsford.

The latter appeared to look unimpressed as she used the petrol pump and wore a slightly glum expression on her face.

She was pictured wearing a simple white T-shirt paired with jeans, as she accessorised with oversized sunglasses and a silver necklace.

After spotting his wife in his car mirror, Eamonn couldn’t resist taking the photo of the presenter without her knowledge.

Eamonn Holmes also left Ruth Langsford red-faced on the ITV daytime show, after his “blow on me” statement.

The duo are currently standing in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield over the summer.
