Eamonn Holmes: ‘Had no idea’ This Morning host speaks out on big moment and shares result

This Morning host Eamonn Holmes was presented with a portrait of himself yesterday to mark his 60th birthday.

The television presenter, who celebrated the milestone birthday on December 3, took to Instagram on Sunday to share a photograph of the artwork with his 562,000 followers.

In the social media snap, Eamonn can be seen standing alongside the portrait as well as Belfast artist Colin Davidson who created the likeness.

The artwork was commissioned by Eamonn’s wife and This Morning co-star Ruth Langsford, 59, and took six months and several sittings to create.

The 51-year-old visual artist unveiled his creation in front of Eamonn and Ruth and their children in his studio at the weekend.

Eamonn told his followers he was honoured to have been “interpreted” by the contemporary artist.

He wrote online: “An Honour to be interpreted at 60 by esteemed artist Colin Davidson. Thank you.”

The presenter continued: “I had no idea how it would turn out but I think there’s no doubt that’s Me!”

Taking to the comments section of the post, which was liked by fellow This Morning host Holly Willoughby, the painter said it was a “privilege” to create the birthday portrait.

He added: “A true pleasure and a privilege for me Eamonn. So pleased you’re pleased!”

Many other Instagram followers and fans shared their comments with the star.

Josie Gibson, who regularly presents segments on the ITV show, wrote: “What a fine looking man!,” alongside the picture.

While another user remarked: “He’s really captured both the sheer determination and simultaneous kindness in your eyes – that’s always been there….Wonderful depiction.”
