Following the roll-out of its latest The Sims 4 expansion, Discover University, Maxis/Electronic Arts has teamed with international school Ironhack to fund 400 scholarships in web development and design for players.
Available to all The Sims 4 players aged 18 or over, the scholarship – which offers to fund up to €800,000 for courses in web development, UX/UI design, or data analytics – is open for applicants seeking either full- or part-time learning from now until December 17th, 2019.
If selected, shortlisted candidates will be invited for a technical and personal interview “to assess your motivation and ability to learn”, although the process insists you don’t need formal experience to be in with a shot. While the application process is free and can be done remotely, all Ironhack “bootcamp classes” require you to attend in person at one of the nine campuses located in Amsterdam, Berlin, Barcelona, Lisbon, Madrid, Mexico City, Miami, Paris, and/or São Paulo. While players can select any campus, they’re reminded to note the course language and ensure they organise their own travel visa application, accommodation and transportation.
Scholarships will range from $1,200 to $12,000 depending on the country and city of the candidate’s choice.
