E3 videogame expo to be canceled due to coronavirus: report – MarketWatch

E3, the world’s biggest videogame convention, will be canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak, Ars Technica reported Tuesday night. Citing multiple sources familiar with organizers’ plans, Ars Technica said the three-day expo will soon make a public announcement. E3 2020 was scheduled to run June 9-11 in Los Angeles. After originally saying the expo would go on, E3 organizers said March 4 that they are “monitoring and evaluating the situation daily.” If it is indeed canceled, E3, which had about 66,000 visitors last year, will join a long list of other conferences and festivals that have pulled the plug due to the outbreak, including the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and South by Southwest in Austin, Texas.
