Dynamo has been taken to hospital following a Crohn’s flare up, just weeks after recovering from coronavirus.

The magician opened up about his illness on Twitter, ahead of a scheduled talk on IBD (Inflammatory bowel disease) awareness.

Apologising for having to miss the event, the 37-year-old opened up about his health issues.

Taking to Twitter, he shared a lengthy note with fans, explaining: ‘Today is IBD awareness day.

‘I was supposed to be doing some talks about it to let people know what its like and to help those suffering, but unfortunately I suffered a flare up yesterday and will be unable to fulfil my commitments today.

‘Really sorry to let people down…especially today. But for us going through it, it’s an IBD life, not just one day, and it can affect us when we least expect it.

‘Hate to burden you with my woe’s but feel bad to those who I have let down today.

‘Heading to hospital to get checked out, my team will keep you posted and I will be back before you know it.’

Dynamo – real name Steven Frayne – ended the message by urging fans: ‘Stay strong out there everyone.’

Alongside the note, he penned: ’Message for all my #crohnswarriors & #IBSwarriors. Stay strong out there #WorldIBDDay2020 #IBD #crohns.’

Fans quickly reached out to the star, offering messages of support.

One replied: ‘Hope all goes well Dynamo lad. You ain’t half suffered with this disease of recent, wishing you speedy recovery.’

‘You are not a burden. You are not a let down. You are a warrior,’ a follower insisted.

‘Best wishes for a speedy recovery,’ a Twitter user penned, while another simply added: ‘Hope you feel better soon x.’

Crohn’s is a long-term health condition affecting the digestive system – usually the small or large intestine.

Dynamo has battled the illness since he was a teenager – and recently revealed his worst flare-up came when he was hospitalised for five weeks with a bout of food poisoning.

‘I don’t want to sound too disgusting, but with this food poisoning, there was a lot of stuff coming out everywhere,’ he told the Sun, recalling an incident from three years ago .

‘You know like in Family Guy when they vomit? It was like that, but blood.

‘It was 4am and my wife rushed me to hospital. I could tell it was something to do with the Crohn’s, but when I got to hospital the highest dosage of morphine wasn’t even touching the sides. It was the worst feeling I’ve ever had.’
