DXRacer is now the official gaming chair for the Gears 5 Major circuit. The Michigan-based company known for its office and gaming chairs will start providing chairs beginning with this week’s event taking place in San Diego, California, from Dec. 6-8. The company will supply newly-designed chairs for players and talent for the course of the season.
The 2019-20 Gears 5 season will see more than $2M in total prizes awarded as well as an online to Pro League qualification system. Additionally, two more Major tournaments will follow in 2020, culminating in a World Championship held in July. Starting with the San Diego Major, all four events will feature a line of custom DXRacer chairs.
“We’re proud to continue our tradition of supporting major esports initiatives through our partnership with Gears 5 Esports,” said Shann Ng, director of marketing, DXRacer. “With a full flight of top-of-the-line DXRacer chairs, players can rest assured that their comfort is guaranteed during their matches.”
DXRacer is a major sponsor in the esports ecosystem having signed deals with the League of Legends European Championship (LEC) and Virtus.pro, the Polish esports organization.
Published by Xbox Game Studios with the first edition launched in 2006, the Gears of War franchise has surpassed the $1B mark in revenue, according to Microsoft. The game has grown from a console title to one that has an expanded universe of books, graphic novels, and a full line of toys.
