Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson says Jumanji is ‘bananas’ to compete with the new Star Wars film at the box office.

Jumanji: The Next Level hits UK cinemas on 13 December, while Star Wars: The Return of Skywalker comes out 19 December.

But Jumanji star Dwayne said this could be a mistake.

‘We’re bananas to go against [it],’ he joked to Digital Spy. ‘This Star Wars is gonna be awesome.’

He added: ‘[But] just like we proved a few years ago when we came out against Star Wars, there’s enough to go around and enough holiday spirit for families to enjoy Jumanji as well as Star Wars.’

Then Jumanji co-star Karen Gillan jumped in with some scathing words for their film’s rival.

‘You know what?’ she started. I think people need an antidote to Star Wars.

‘I love Star Wars – Star Wars is amazing – but there’s room for both.’

Jumanji co-star Kevin Hart had a horror car crash back in September. So much so that Jumanji director Jake Kasdan feared for the comedian’s life.

The 40-year-old – who plays Franklin Finbar in the sequel – broke his back in three places in the terrifying smash.

And, speaking to Metro.co.uk at the Jumanji premiere, Jake revealed he was ‘thrilled’ to have the actor back in the fold so quickly.

While on the red carpet, he told us: ‘He’s doing great, I was enormously worried.

‘I adore that man and I was absolutely thrilled that he was able to recuperate quickly and join us for all of this. He’s doing great.’

We’re so glad he’s alright.

Jumanji: The Next Level is out in UK cinemas on 11 December, while Star Wars: The Return of Skywalker comes out 19 December.
