Dwayne Johnson cut his honeymoon short to help injured friend Kevin Hart who was seriously injured in a car crash.

The 47-year-old actor, who is also known as The Rock, has been celebrating tying the knot with longtime love Lauren Hashian.

They have been Kauai on their honeymoon but Johnson made the decision to head home after news broke that actor and comedian Kevin Hart was seriously injured in a car accident.

Hart was a passenger in a vehicle on Malibu’s Mulholland Highway when it was involved in a crash that saw the car plummet off the side of the road and into a ditch.

Hart has subsequently undergone surgery and faces many weeks of recovery, which meant that he couldn’t fulfill a proposed appearance on premiere episode The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Hart is said to be “doing fine” but on hearing his plight, Johnson said that he would help him out and take his place on the show.

Johnson revealed his decision on Twitter , where he wrote: “When my son @KevinHart4real goes down with an injury, his big daddy steps in. I did leave my honeymoon early (Lauren approved cos she LOVES Kelly) and now me and Kelly are new best friends.”

“Tune in this Monday! We had the best time!” Johnson added.

Kevin Hart has a lengthy road to recovery after suffering serious injuries

Johnson co-stars with Hart in Jumanji and has agreed to continue to support the actor has he faces a heavy schedule to return to fitness.

Hart will undergo a heavy physical therapy workload in coming weeks.

This will then be followed by a steady schedule of doctors appointments, though the wreckage of the vehicle shows that Hart was lucky to escape alive.
