DVD releases: What new movies are coming out on DVD and to stream in April?

Trolls: World Tour

Trolls: World Tour is the second Trolls movie, and is one of the first completely new releases to come out online and on DVD at the same time as its cinematic release during the coronavirus pandemic.

Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake return as Poppy and Branch, as they discover they are not the only trolls in the world.

The pair go on an epic adventure to unite the trolls all over the world, and their music styles.

Trolls: World Tour will be available to stream on Sky Store on April 6, as part of their Sky Cinema Animation programming.

The movie will then be out on DVD on April 10.

Charlie’s Angels

This reboot saw Kristen Stewart join forces with Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska as the new generation, with director and writer Elizabeth Banks as Bosley.

The film did not get fantastic reviews, however, for those in need of a pick-me-up with girls beating the bad guys, this could be the one.

The film is out on DVD on April 6 and is already available to buy and download.

Jumanji: The Next Level

The second instalment of the new Jumanji franchise is almost on streaming platforms and DVD.

Fans of the franchise can see Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson reunite with Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan to try and escape Jumanji as they are pulled back in – this time with some unlikely companions.

The film is out to buy and download online on April 4, before its DVD release on April 6.

Star Wars: Rise Of Skywalker

The final movie in the Skywalker trilogy is close to being released on DVD.

Daisy Ridley and John Boyega joined back together, this time to try to fight back and beat the First Order once again.

While some Star Wars fans weren’t entirely keen on this outing, it is the only way to complete the film series, and fans will be desperate to get their hands on it as a result.

The DVD will be out on April 13, and fans can pre-order the digital download now.

Birds Of Prey

The DC Comics movie has already had its streaming debut in the USA, as it was announced the release would be fast-tracked.

Sadly for UK fans, we still have a little while to wait before we can see Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn and her band of crime-fighting ladies back on our screens.

The film will be available to purchase on DVD and Blu-ray on April 27, and is available for pre-order for download now.
