Duo rob Cleveland man at gunpoint while playing Xbox at his apartment, police say – cleveland.com

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A Cleveland man asked to play video games at a friend’s house so he and an accomplice could rob the man at gunpoint, court records say.

Johnny R. Miller Jr., 22, is charged with aggravated robbery in the incident at an apartment building on Governor Avenue near Bosworth Road, in the West Boulevard neighborhood.

He is not in custody, but a warrant was issued Tuesday for his arrest, court records say.

The 28-year-old resident said Miller came to the apartment and asked if his friend could play a Madden football video game on Xbox. The resident only knew Miller as “Johnny,” but used to be friends with him on Instagram, police reports say.

The resident agreed to let them in, and they played the game for a bit. The unidentified friend eventually got up to use the bathroom.

The friend emerged from the bathroom moments later holding a gun. He ordered the resident to stand up and go face a wall, threatening to shoot the resident if he didn’t comply, police reports say.

Miller took the resident’s wallet, two cellphones, $60 in cash, a vape pen and a prescription pill bottle containing Seroquel, an antipsychotic used to treat schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and depression, court records say.

Miller and the unidentified friend ran from the apartment and drove away in a black Chevrolet TrailBlazer waiting for them on Governor Avenue.

Investigators are still trying to identify the friend who threatened the resident with a gun, court records say.

Miller was charged in a 2016 drive-by shooting that seriously injured a man in Lakewood. He later pleaded guilty to obstructing justice in the case and was sentenced to 18 months on probation, court records say.
