Dundee to host BBC Radio One's Big Weekend with Calvin Harris on line-up


Dundee has been announced as the city to host BBC Radio One’s Big Weeekend.

Host Greg James revealed the news during his breakfast show on Monday.

Superstar Dumfries DJ Calvin Harris and Ayrshire rockers Biffy Clyro are on the line up for the gig in May,

Other acts on the bill include Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, Camilla Cabello and AJ Tracey.

Scots fans were delighted when a video, posted on the BBC Radio One twitter account, confirmed rumours that the annual music event would be returning to Scotland.

Dundee, Scotland’s fourth largest city, played host to the Big Weeekend back in 2006.

The event has also played Glasgow and Perth.

More acts are set to be announced over the coming months.

It’s unknown if West Lothian chart-topper, Lewis Capaldi will be added to the line-up.

Last week we told how Calvin Harris has created a new alias – because he’s feeling “negativity” around his name.

The 36-year-old’s real name is Adam Wiles.

He recently released two Acid House-flavoured tracks as Love Regenerator.
