Duncanville renewed for a second season at Fox

According to TVLine, Fox has officially renewed Golden Globe winner Amy Poehler’s animated family comedy series Duncanville for a second season. The sitcom is currently airing its first season with the seventh episode titled “Jack’s Pipe Dream,” scheduled to make its premiere on Sunday, April 19.

“Duncanville is another great addition to our Sunday Animation Domination block,” Fox entertainment president Michael Thorn said in a statement. “Amy, Mike and Julie have been fantastic partners, as have the teams at 20th and Universal Television. Our thanks also go out to the entire voice cast, including Ty, Riki, Betsy, Yassir, Zach, Joy, Rashida and Wiz. Duncan may be an average teen. However, the show is anything but, and we can’t wait for a brand-new season of Harris family adventures.”

Duncanville is centered around a spectacularly average 15-year-old boy with a rich fantasy life, and the people in his world. Like most 15-year-olds, Duncan can see adulthood on the horizon: money, freedom, cars, girls…but the reality is more like: always being broke, driving with your mom sitting shotgun and babysitting your little sister. He’s not exceptional, but he has a wild imagination in which he’s never anything less than amazing.

The series features the voices of Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation) as Duncan and Annie, who is Duncan’s mother; Emmy winner Ty Burell (Modern Family) as Jack, Duncan’s father; Riki Lindhome (The Big Bang Theory) as Kimberly, Duncan’s awkward 12-year old sister; and Joy Osmanski (Santa Clarita Diet) as Jing, the Duncan’s adopted 5-year-old little sister. It will also feature Yassir Lester (Making History) as Duncan’s friend Yangzi, Betsy Sodaro (Disjointed) as Duncan’s tomboy friend Bex and Zach Cherry (You) as Wolf along with guest-stars Emmy nominee Rashida Jones (Parks and Recreation, The Office) as Mia and Grammy nominee Whiz Khalifa (BoJack Horseman) as Mr. Mitch.
