Duncan Bannatyne and his wife, Nigora, were among the holidaymakers who rushed to save two boys from drowning on a beach in Barbados on Boxing Day.

The Dragon’s Den star, 70, and his wife, 39, were among the group that helped get two boys to safety after they almost drowned on Sandy Lane beach, a favourite holiday spot for the stars.

The couple, who are on the Caribbean island for a Christmas getaway, were seen helping the boys after they were pulled from the water.

The boys were rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown by ambulance following the incident and it is believed both boys are recovering.

The dramatic scenes were at odds with the rest of the couple’s trip, which seemed nothing short of idyllic as they made the most of the beautiful weather in Barbados.

Sandy Lane, the luxury resort in Barbados is unsurprisingly a favourite with the rich and famous, which regularly attracts the likes of Simon Cowell and his family, the Beckhams and more.

Duncan and Nigora has previously been photographed on a leisurely stroll around the resort, before jumping in to lend a hand when they saw the boys in distress.

The couple have been married since 2017 after tying the knot in Portugal, and Duncan has six children from two previous marriages.

Nigora also has a daughter from a previous relationship, and the couple have spoken about plans to have children together in the future.

Duncan previously said: ‘We’ll be planning the future family. I would like to have at least two boys. I can’t wait to be a dad again.’

Nigora added: ‘He’s an amazing father. I’m proud of how he is with my daughter. She adores Duncan and couldn’t ask for better stepfather. He’s going to be an amazing father to my future children.’
