Dua Lipa channeled Fran Drescher on The Nanny for a sitcom spoof video.
The 24-year-old pop act was in the Vogue clip modeling an array of outfits by top designers, striking what the magazine called a ’90s sitcom’ theme.
Her brightly colorful ensembles were in the exact style that Fran would have worn in character as Fran Fine on The Nanny, which aired from 1993 to 1999.

The Vogue videos began with an animated sequence that bore a distinct resemblance to The Nanny’s opening credits.
In it, an animated Dua was shown hopping the Atlantic from her native London to New York, then riding a train and traipsing into a Manhattan brownstone.
As the ‘sitcom’ began, Dua traipsed into the elegant home in an Eckhaus Latta skirt suit in a shrieking yellow shade worthy of Fran Fine.
She also took her best stab at the character’s bubbly charm when she crowed: ‘She’s home!’ and flung off her checked Oscar De La Renta coat.

She had style, she had flair: In it, an animated Dua was shown hopping the Atlantic from her native London to New York, then riding a train and traipsing into a Manhattan brownstone
Specifically, she threw the coat onto the arms of a snobbish butler who was reminiscent of Niles, Daniel Davis’ character on The Nanny.
Although Dua kept her London accent for the role, when she entered the kitchen she was joined by a pal who was distinctly New York.
Her friend leaned against the doorway eating chips because ‘We ran outta food at my place,’ a sentence she said in her best Queens accent.
She seemed to be a composite of Fran’s best friend Val Toriello, played by Rachel Chagall, or the lead character’s mother Sylvia Fine, played by Renee Taylor.

There she is: Although Dua kept her London accent for the role, when she entered the kitchen she was joined by a pal who was distinctly New York
Off she goes: While Dua’s friend was in a leopard print bathrobe, the pop star herself was in a pink Tom Ford turtleneck and a matching sequined skirt

Dua needed to dress for dinner, so she fished her formal Area frock out of the freezer in a kooky touch, and changed into it offscreen with a good deal of shouting.
Once she was all ready she appeared into a narrow upstairs hallway and struck a Fran-like pose – only for the flared sides of the dress to barely fit between the walls.
Dua decided to swap into a massive green Christopher Rogers dress and filmed a scene of her fumbling attempts to iron it.

So goofy: Dua decided to swap into a massive green Christopher Rogers dress and filmed a scene of her fumbling attempts to iron it
Once she finally got into the dress she did a Norma Desmond-esque model walk down the stairs – only to trip on the way down.
The butler walked quickly past to avoid helping, and the texting schoolgirl lounging on a chair nearby did not pay Dua any notice.
With her long brown hair and school uniform, the girl bore a faint resemblance to The Nanny’s character Grace, played by Madeline Zima.
Dua slid into a scarlet Rodarte gown with busily designed opera gloves to flop in front of the TV and gab on the phone with her friend.
