DRUG firms have been told to keep up their No Deal Brexit stockpiles amid fears coronavirus could cause shortages.

With Chinese factories shut amid the outbreak, there are concerns medicines and life-saving gear made there may run low.

Pharmaceutical giants here stuffed warehouses full in case Britain crashed out of the EU without a deal last month.

Ministers are urging them to continue in case the coronavirus sparks a global supply crisis, The Sun columnist James Forsyth reveals today.

So far, more than 30,000 patients have caught the disease and it has killed more than 600.

There have been three cases in Britain, while many more have been quarantined as health bosses try to stop it spreading.

The latest UK victim caught it at a five-star hotel in Singapore.

Brits are warned by the Foreign Office not to travel to China unless it is absolutely essential.

Officials in China’s Wuhan province, where coronavirus first broke out, are carrying out door-to-door health checks.

But despite huge efforts to contain the disease, cases are still being detected across Asia, the US, Canada and Europe.

The Chinese doctor who first tried to warn about the new virus in December, Dr Li Wenliang, is one of the latest victims to die from it after treating patients in Wuhan.
