Holmfirth to Woodhead Reservoir

Drivers need not venture too far from Huddersfield to enjoy this eye-catching route.
Beginning in the filming location of Last of the Summer Wine, the journey travels through the picturesque Yorkshire villages of Holmbridge and Holme.
Travel further upwards onto Woodhead Road, a route which rapidly elevated but brings with it panoramic scenes of lush fields and amplitudes of deep emerald foliage.
A car park is ideally situated along the way at Holme Moss Transmitting Station, a perfect place to pull over and take in the awe-inspiring views of the valley below.
The route ends with the Woodhead Reservoir, another chance to stop and snap a few photographs.

Huddersfield to Rochdale

Though driving along the busy M62 might not be everyone’s idea of a tranquil experience, this road offers some one-of-a-kind views of the surrounding Pennines.
Starting at junction 23, this road begins with the region’s typical countryside backdrop before rapidly climbing.
In fact, the M62 summit sits at 1,221 feet above sea level.
It is the highest point on the UK motorway network and unsurprisingly comes with panoramic surroundings to match.
Halifax to Hebden Bridge

Driving from the historic market town of Halifax to the quaint canal-laden Hebden Bridge, travellers are not only assured of beautiful surroundings on arrival but also plenty along the way too.
Along the way venture through cosy hilltop village Heptonstall which boasts an amazing view right back to Hebden Bridge.
Then journey up to Blackshaw head, across the moors for even more photo-worthy spots.
There are a number of alternative routes along various country roads which adventurous drivers can opt for if they want to extend the journey.
These include travelling via Todmorden & Calder Valley or via the historic Wycoller village which dates back to the 10th century BC.
Helmsley to Stokesley

Venture on a journey through the heart of the North York Moors National Park and prepare yourself for plenty of photo opportunities.
The B1257 road is one described as made for “driving purists”
This country lane is lined with quaint dry stone walls, lush areas of greenery and fields spreading as far as the eye can see.
Spanning 19 miles, the route may be long, but promises plenty of views to keep you entertained along the way.
There are a couple of tight turns and bends along the way, but they only serve to add to the English countryside experience.
