  • The $1M USD tournament will feature 16 teams and award 15K Pro Circuit points.
  • DreamHack Leipzig takes place from Jan. 24-26, 2020, and also features Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournaments.

The first Dota 2 Major of 2020 will be held at January’s DreamHack Leipzig gaming and esports event, the company announced this weekend.

DreamLeague Season 13 will be the second Major of the 2019-20 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season, following Mars Media’s MDL Chengdu Major in November, and it will hold its live finals on Jan. 24-26, 2020, at the annual event in Leipzig, Germany.

As with the MLD Chengdu Major, DreamLeague Season 13 will award a $1M prize pool across 16 participating teams, with 15K DPC season points up for grabs. The WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020 will take place earlier in January in Ukraine, awarding $300K and 660 total DPC points.

“We at DreamHack are proud that Valve, once again, has chosen DreamHack to host a DPC Major,” said DreamHack co-CEO Marcus Lindmark, in a release. “We aim to bring the same feeling delivered during DreamLeague Season 11 in Stockholm, Sweden, to our event in Leipzig—meaning the tournament will be packed with exciting games, great entertainment, and an opportunity for Dota 2 fans to come closer to and cheer for their favorite teams and players.”

DreamHack Leipzig will be the largest edition to date, according to the company, and take place from Jan. 24-26 at Leipziger Messe. The event will also feature a $100K DreamHack Open Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament from the ESL Pro Tour, as well as a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate European Circuit competition.
