Dr Pimple Popper has been filmed getting sprayed with pus in a truly stomach-churning recent case at her clinic in Los Angeles, US.
The dermatologist, real name Dr Sandra Lee, was squeezing an egg-sized cyst on the scalp of a patient when it suddenly ruptured – spraying thick yellow goop all over her arm.
Eric, the owner of the whopping big cyst, said it had developed after he was hit on the head by a machine eight years ago.
The 34-year-old construction worker from Cheektowaga, New York, admitted the lump was painful but still had mixed feelings about the procedure.
He said: “Saying goodbye to the ‘on/off button’ was a bit bittersweet if you will because it is something my daughter and I have shared because it’s been there the entirety of her life.
“We play this silly game, the Daddy power on, Daddy power off button. She’ll tap the button and I’ll shut down for just a second.
“It’s small and it’s stupid but it makes both of us ridiculously happy.”
With the giant boil marked-up with a pen, he is ready to go and Dr Pimple Popper injects it with a needle to numb the area and then makes a small cut.
This confirms her suspected diagnosis of a pilar cyst – a totally benign blemish that nonetheless can cause physical discomfort or embarrassment.
Free to get to work, she starts to squeeze the bump and warns Eric that he might feel some “tension”.
“Come to momma,” she says, but quickly regrets her choice of words when the cyst violently erupts – sending a tsunami of pus streaming up her bare arm.
“Oh my God I’m sorry,” says Eric from his chair.
However, Dr Pimple Popper lives up to her name and keeps resolutely squeezing, resulting in a never-ending tube of pus being safely removed.
Later, the medic admitted she had been a “little too aggressive” in the excitement of squeezing the spot.
The NHS warns people not to burst cysts on their own and seek medical advice because if it’s infected, you risk spreading the infection.
It can also grow back if you haven’t got an expert like Dr Pimple Popper to cut away the sac.
