DOWNING Street has been secretly road-testing Boris Johnson’s general election campaign slogan of “Trust the People”, it has emerged.
The PM’s most senior No10 aide and former Leave campaign guru Dominic Cummings has held a series of focus groups in the past two weeks to try out the mantra.

It reveals the Tory leader will aim to galvanise the successful Brexit vote from the landmark 2016 referendum in a bid to repeat the result.
Insiders claim the Downing Street operation is convinced it can secure majority by “zeroing in” on the key issues of crime, immigration, schools and the NHS.
Since taking office, the PM has announced plans to hire 20,000 more police, pour £14billion into education and repair more than 50 hospitals.
The road-testing came as a poll by consultancy Hanbury claimed voters fear Jeremy Corbyn more than a No Deal Brexit.
The poll said 43 per cent believe the worst possible outcome now would be seeing Jeremy Corbyn as prime minister, while 35 percent said a no-deal exit would be worst.
Some 40 percent backed Boris Johnson as the best prime minister with just 18 percent backing the Labour leader.
Even 40 per cent of Lib Dem voters prefer the Tory leader to Jeremy Corbyn.
