Dougie Poynter posts about 'plastic rubbish' hours before ex Ellie Goulding's wedding

Dougie Poynter shrugged off news about his ex-girlfriend Ellie Goulding ‘s wedding this weekend to focus on promoting his new book instead.

The McFly star, 31, dated singer Ellie, 32, for two years. They split in 2016 shortly before she went on to meet her now-husband Caspar Jopling.

Ellie and Caspar tied the knot in York on Saturday, and Dougie made it clear he was not paying attention to the star-studded affair.

He appeared to totally ignore his former lover’s big day to focus on promoting his new eco-friendly book, Plastic Sucks.

On the day of the wedding, all fans saw on his Twitter account was a message promoting the project and his upcoming book tour.

He wrote: “I’m going on tour for #PlasticSucks starting next weekend!! Book tickets here if you haven’t already.”

She told The Sun: “I’m not in a relationship any more and that’s been hard.

“Having a break will be a good thing for me and my head.

“Dougie is one of the most special people in the world and I’m so happy for him.

“He’s doing well in LA and he’s still one of my best friends. I know he feels the same.
